Contreformes perpétuelles explores the instant in which molten crystal becomes form. The project takes the mould of Baccarat’s Harcourt glass as its starting point, enlarging its negative volume into a monumental display structure.

The mould becomes both architecture and showcase, turning the tools and gestures of crystal-making into the scenography itself.

At the centre, the enlarged mould holds the crystal pieces within a polished metal structure. Its scale transforms a familiar production tool into an architectural object.

A mould that displays the object while revealing the gesture that made it.

Metal tubes recall the blowpipes used by crystal makers and support hexagonal trays for the pieces. A deep red velvet lining evokes the heat of the furnaces, while the Baccarat rosette is engraved into the outer shell.
