Sound as an architectural material.
Developed in response to a Sofitel / Accor brief, Le Noctambule reimagines the hotel as a cultural destination structured by sound.
Rather than treating acoustics as a technical layer, the project uses sound to organize atmosphere, circulation and program, creating a sequence of distinct spatial and sonic conditions throughout the hotel.
A hotel lobby for listening, discovery and exchange.
The lobby combines a vinyl and book library, dedicated listening areas and a music concierge. Arrival becomes a sequence of different acoustic conditions rather than a single neutral space.
Architectural interventions become acoustic events.
Sound is not added to the architecture.
It structures it.
A spatial score maps the acoustic character of the guest journey.
Volume, reverberation, voices and music are mapped across the hotel and translated into architectural conditions, moving from quiet listening spaces to collective and performative rooms.
An intimate performance room within the hotel.
A dedicated concert room brings performers and audiences into close proximity. Acoustics, lighting and spatial configuration allow the room to adapt to live performances and Sofitel La Nuit events.
The business centre becomes a music studio.
The conventional hotel workspace is reinterpreted as a space for recording and experimentation, with electronic instruments, sound devices and synthesizers integrated into the architecture.
The acoustic sequence extends beyond the interior.
A series of interventions, including a sound fountain, extends the project into a connected acoustic landscape.
Le Noctambule sits between hotel and cultural venue.
